Acute Riot
These young Glasgow upstarts are the result of days and nights filled with nothing more than boozing down The Local and incessant boredom lazing around downtown Dennistoun with nothing to entertain them.
Formed in October 2005 today's ear splitting line-up was completed by their fourth gig in March the next year: On
pigskins Chris Alexander, Bass Jamie Barnes, Guitars Kris Jack & Fraser Wilson, finally on shouting duties we have Mike Moore. A frightening array of talent by anyone's standards & we at Framingo are over the moon at securing The Riots' signature. This band have been shaking the Glasgow music scene over the summer months & have been offering an alternative to the emo screamers & Oasis tribute bands they have been billed alongside.
Their songs have become anthems for their vast legions of fans, These vintage numbers tell tales of: First Love, Glasgow Night Life, Teenage paranoia and Escaping Your Mundane Existence. Through these up-tempo floor-fillers and sing-along choruses you cannot fail to feel your head nodding and feet tapping. Acute Riot have, of course, been compared to the usual suspects of Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys et al, although some have said they were reminded of The Clash and The Buzzcocks. The craziest comparison recently was "Led Zeppelin on Steroids!"...
Don't take our word for it though visit them on their MySpace or see them live. Alternatively listen to the snippets below from their debut release on Framingo (Ming 05) out Mon 5th March 2007!!!!
