The Zimmers are a four-piece guitar outfit that formed in March 2001.
The band members’ posses years of experience from gigging and recording
throughout Glasgow and the UK. With their hearts firmly set in the punk / new wave era
of the late `70`s and early `80`s they pride themselves in performing some of the most influential songs
of those heady times, as well as many classic tunes from before and after.
Influences from The Velvet Underground to Oasis and all good things in between indicate their
reliance upon classic melodic rock which rightly still finds itself
the backbone of many of the current crop of rock wannabees.
Alan Fleming on drums and percussion provides the heavy and steady backbeat
upon which the band's distinctive slant on many classic songs is based.
Mick Murphy on Bass and vocals plays uncompromisingly to compliment
the drums and bass mix so distinctive of The Zimmers sound.
Federico Piacentini on guitar and vocals instils the dynamic guitar style
so often missing from today’s guitar slingers.
Andy Frew also on guitar and vocals provides that cutting edge which tops the whole package off.
