WINTER OF CONTENT AHEAD
What with the clocks going back, brass monkeys being sighted regularly and a whole raft of crappy reality TV shows being broadcast at peak hours to dim our collective senses, its not difficult to surmise that winter has arrived! But fear not, our music loving compadres, for FRAMINGO is pleased to announce that not one, not two …but THREE new tracks by THE SKUZZIES will be available as a single for digital download in the not too distant future! The new single, which was recorded during the band's sojourn to Glasgow in September has now been mastered down The Big Smoke at Wolf Studios following the fabby recordings at LA CHUNKY …. and being the shy and retiring types we at Framingo don't mind saying that these songs simply ROCK!!!! More details will follow but in the meantime get those I-Pod MP3 things and your laptops charged up and ready to start off-loading or whatever it is you do with theses thingys …………………………………And to wet your appetites even further a clip of the lead track Shotgun Romance is now on our MySpace for your listening pleasure… How kind to you we are!! THE HILLS ARE ALIVE…JUST !
Despite Scotland succumbing to what can only be described as two rather dodgy goals last week to GEORGIA, we here at FRAMINGO have not given up hope of spending a few weeks next summer in JULIE ANDREWS LAND cheering on Big Eck`s men in Dark blue… the small matter of despatching erstwhile world Meisters ITALIA remains…but lets be positive and retain the FRAMINGO ethos, one upon which the day to day running of the label is based… LETS GET RIGHT INTAE THEM!!!….12.10.07
PLANES, "TRAINS etc A`VE HUD MA WET JEANS OAN FUR FOUR DAYS NOO!"
After escaping the near catastrophic scenes at The VARIETY, our bold foursome were up bright as the proverbial lark on the Sunday Morning for to part-take in a photo shoot avec our very own COLIN, a striking looking chap who bears an uncanny resemblance to a local well kent rock star!! All went well down the Merchant City, though one or two of THE SKUZZIES seemed a tad uncomfortable when positioned outside our very own HIGH COURT, stamping ground for some of Glasgow's more savoury citizens. However friends were quickly made with the locals & free apple pies were exchanged just before the local plods threatened a guided tour of the establishment early Monday morning…. a rapid exit from the area ensued ensuring Framingo stayed solvent!!…Check out our gallery page for the resultant snaps.
After the shoot it was off to LA CHUNKY to put down the finishing touches to the recordings. All went swimmingly and it has to be said the results are stunning! Check out the Skuzzies page on the Framingo site for wee snippets. Details will follow soon on when these tracks will hit the public domain. As is customary, it was then off to celebrate a wholly satisfactory weekends work… and much drinking was partaken! The usual haunts were visited in Sauchiehall Street where things went steadily downhill. ALDO FRAMINGO, for it was he, who revealed his latent interest in the worlds of Water- sports by depositing the contents of one or three pints of the falling down stuff over all and sundry!! . After ending the night in BOX (with the exception of ALDO who sadly ended his night OUT of his very own BOX!). We all bade our farewells to the London Bound SKUZZIES and weaved our respective paths home…. Rock N Roll, eh…10.10.07
BASEMENT TAPES
Not content with warming up a chilled Monday evening in Glasgow, LITTLE JOHN ROCKET have been hard at it round at RICOS`S gaff, chez le DOGHOUSE laying down the tracks for their eagerly awaited next single release on FRAMINGO. The sessions are going exceedingly well, as Mr Kipling might say…. Indeed, gossip has it that the quality of the forthcoming single is such that RICO is totally behind the guys and sees this as a monumental step up for the Glaswegian quintet …Keep it FRAMINGO for more details as they break!

BARFLY 3 PARTICK THISTLE 0…..RESULT!
Far be it for us here at FRAMINGO Towers to bemoan our favourite footie team, the Mighty PARTICK THISTLE …. But what precisely in the name of CHICK CHARNLEY is happening up Maryhill way these days? After taking in the lacklustre display at the tail of the bank down GREENOCK way on Saturday, FRAMINGO headed to the BARFLY in GLASGOW on Monday night to seek solace . ..And praise the lord; LITTLE JOHN ROCKET restored our faith in life and the world, as we know it!
There was a bit of a blip in the evening's entertainment having to subject our senses to a band from Livvy who seem to have a penchant for THE VIEW & SIR LONNIE DONEGAN! …(Yeah, us neither!!!!!) Anyway, pushing on, what a relief it was to see LJR mount the stage (oohh matron! What was that about the whole 7 inches???) And launch into rumoured new single BASEMENT. What a corker and we simply can't wait to hear this in its full glory once RICO has done his thing in the studio with the track. Keeping a very healthy Monday night crowd on the edge, LJR entertained us to a tight and exciting set, which included current single AT AN END and the eponymous LJR. After half an hour of taught, sweaty excitement, our guys were gone …but a lasting impression was surely left on those present whom we are certain will be clamouring to inform all and sundry of the LJR phenomenon!!08.10.07
TRAINS,PLANES,…etc (part 3)… ! YOU LOOKIN` AT MA POOH?
After a wonderfully fulfilling recording session on the Saturday (that's 8th September for those of you keeping up!) and following upon Scotland's soccer victory over the mighty Lithuania, the bold SKUZZIES could not help but be drawn to Glasgow's very own SODOM & GOMORRAH that is the world renowned SAUCHIEHALL STREET. After a few glasses of the falling down stuff, our three Amigos, FEDERICO, NICK & JULIAN ( CROOKED J having retired to a darkened room, the wimp!) camped themselves in THE VARIETY BAR. After a few more samples of the local ale were partaken, the bold FEDERICO necessitated a visit to the indoor cludgie. Upon vacating the cubicle of horror, & after depositing his own Hammer House, our hero was met with a somewhat unsavoury challenge from a local oik (that's NED in Glasgow )…a comment that can only be construed as overtly racist was made and “compliments” were subsequently traded. Needless to say upon return to the main bar it was clear to all that a small “incident” i.e. a stramash was likely …. Our NICK , a man who drives a POLISH TANK and is well versed in the works of ROBERT DE NIRO, is not the shrinking violet type, but a quick calculation of odds in the region of 3 to 20 made it a no brainer…Ditching their drinks our three heroes legged it from hostelry to a waiting cab …..and homewards to think ..And drink again! …. More to come in the shape of a visit to Court and wet jeans excitement …!28.09.07
AVALANCHE RE-STOCKED !

So don't despair our vinyl junkie chums, get along to AVALANCHE and secure your copy before we have to report a complete SELL-OUT! And don't forget , if you have any problemos obtaining the masterpiece , contact us here direct at FRAMINGO and we'll sort you out.

TRAINS, STUDIOS,GIGS…etc (part 2)….GO FORTH MR PLOD! … BACK TO LONDINIUM !
…After the high jinks post-gig, our friends from the Big Smoke retired to their slumber rooms, only to be woken in the early hours by Mr Plod!! Not a raid in search of Uncle Charlie, we hasten to add, but a Glesgae break-in that night!! Given that chav-rockers “KASH-IN-BIAN” were ensconced in the same establishment as our heroes, we can only surmise that the perpetrators of this heinous crime were after the much prised cardigan collection of the Mancunian beard wearers … the swines!
Anyhow , after a hearty breakie , it was onwards to LA CHUNKY studios to commence recording…and discussing …and arguing! Lets be honest here, when you get a crowd of musical geniuses together in a confined space, all suffering the effects of various intoxicants ( legal and. err …not so legal ). A wee bit of colourful discussion is inevitable! A frank exchange of views took place surrounding the pig-skins and accoutrements supplied… culminating in the suggestion by the bold producer & engineer extraordinaire RONAN that our four heroes from the south “multiply themselves back down to the Metropolis post-haste!” (… Foul language is not condoned by FRAMINGO hence the substitution of more palatable lingo!)… However , with help coming in the unlikely form of those Tigermilk wonders BELLE & SEBASTIAN who kindly donated a drum stool , & the counselling skills of The Hidden Lane Café, tempers simmered down and it wasn't long before THE SKUZZIES & RONAN were bosom buddies and talk of setting up home together was on the agenda! ……Till the next instalment… Fast black outta here , our heroes accosted at court & alcohol drenchings another wee taster……26.09.07
MORE MING THAN A LIBERAL DEMOCRAT PARTY LEADER…
Not content with sitting on our laurels/arses (or bahookies, as we call them up in Scotchland ), we'll shortly be bringing you news of the next release on FRAMINGO due to escape into the public domain sometime between Halloween and Yuletide! It`s all a tad hush hush just now till the finer details are sorted. …But stay tuned our fluffy friends for the latest news on what will be MING 07 BEFORE the press get hold of it…

TRAINS, STUDIOS, GIGS & LIGS (PART 1)…..THE FLASH-BACKS CONTINUE!
Its been down to the hard graft of “servicing” our ever faithful clientele this last couple of weeks making sure the masses have received their limited Editition 7 inches of pure, unadulterated rock heaven in the form of AT AN END & ICE COLD ( Ming 06 )…if you haven't got yours yet, it can be had at oor wee shop. And why not complete your very own set of formats by downloading. (See our shop page for all necessary directions)… However, in between licking stamps and pestering the media, FRAMINGO have continued to suffer the after effects from THE WEEK THAT WAS . As you will be aware if you keep tabs on these illustrious pages, THE SKUZZIES came into land (or dock, or whatever a train does) on the PM of 6th Sept and were whisked off under-cover of a Glasgow Cab to their hideaway for the visit, a well kent Hotel a mere Chip Buttie fling away from the Kingston Bridge also home to those cardigan wearing beard adorning Muppets fae Manchester for the night…
…In the evening, as reported in previous news stories, LITTLE JOHN ROCKET joined THE SKUZZIES for a blinding Gig at Nice N Sleazy …. thereafter, memories remain a tad hazy, though there are uncorroborated reports of drinking into the wee small hours discussing the merits of cardigans , the benefits of owning a Chieftain Tank and the reasoning behind the existence of Radio 1 disc jockos …. Things went steadily up-hill on Friday morning of which more to follow in part 2 …Fuck off Back to London , Belle & Sebastian to the rescue & Uncle Charlie are a wee taster!! Stay tuned friends.....Framingo xx

FRAMINGO recently caught one of the T-REX /MARC BOLAN retrospective telly programmes and were reminded of just how the times have changed …. TONI VISCONTI (he who twiddled the knobs for BOLAN/ BOWIE et al) passed comment on how it wasn't unusual for a T-REX single to shift 60,000 copies A DAY!…. Some things, regrettably, never seem to change …on perusing an article on the recently deceased TONY WILSON, a wry smile broadened the collective FRAMINGO coupons on reading his insight on the “ reason d'être ” for the punk rock revolution in ‘76/77 “people forget how unbelievably awful it was back in the mid70's…. Two words: Rick Wakeman!” ….. Fast forward 30 years, our music loving chums, and we at FRAMINGO give you another two words: SNOW PATROL …..'Nuff said!…

Hopefully all those who were fortunate to be among the near sell-out crowd at NICE N SLEAZY on 6 th September have recovered sufficiently to recount their tales of good fortune to all…. And for those still not in a position to do so, there follows a brief , but, timely reminder.
FRAMINGO favourites THE RETROSEXUALS took to the stage just before 9 and true to form kept the early arrivals in good fettle with a tight set featuring the fantastic new single BLOOD IN YOUR EYES and the ever-popular & mega FRAMINGO favourite TELEPHONE . We can't recommend their forthcoming launch night @BAR BLOC on 11 th Oct highly enough…. Check out their website for more info …
After a five hour train journey , a close encounter with border control (for legal reasons we cannot divulge the details! ) and a well deserved lie-down in a darkened room, London's finest THE SKUZZIES hit the stage just as the legendary venue was nearing capacity … Straight into the current single ICE COLD and the expectant crowd were not disappointed . Standing room in the packed venue was at a premium as the band kept the crowd on- side with a stunning set featuring favourites ANTHEM and THE DEVIL YOU KNOW . Seldom in recent years has Glasgow witnessed a debut gig by a band exuding such obvious confidence, panache and not a little glamorous style! After only twenty minutes on stage it was clear for all to see that THE SKUZZIES are here for the long haul . With rumoured next single SHOTGUN ROMANCE and the stunning reggae influenced MY WINGS cementing a truly remarkable set, its heartening to witness a band so sure of it's own destiny…
LITTLE JOHN ROCKET have been ensconced in the studio over recent weeks and the sheer power of the opening number WE BECAME THEM was evidence that the Glasgow quintet have simply been bidding there time. A truly awesome opener! Seldom has SLEAZYS been almost sold-out on a school-Night …but 150 eager punters can't be wrong! NURMBERG , with it's stunning opening and rhythmic thrust was simply mesmerising and the audience simply lapped it up. FORGET ABOUT US carried the frenzy to even higher heights . The eponymous LJR was one of the best live performances witnessed at sleazy's in recent memory .. A true rocker in every sense! AT AN END , the current single, gave the entranced crowd a superb finale to a remarkable performance…. If it weren't for Glasgow's draconian licensing laws , we'd still be in the venue now!!…A truly wondrous evening of astounding entertainment that will remain with all of us present for the rest of our lives…
And if all of that wasn't enough there are images of the night….. enjoy!!14.09.07
CHART SHOW SHOCKER !
…Thought that might catch our music loving followers attention! Yes folks, despite exceptional sales of our most recent release, AT AN END/ICE COLD featuring & , FRAMINGO wont be featuring on this Sunday's CHART SHOW. To be honest , we at FRAMINGO gave up on that particular type of music programme around the time FLUFF FREEMAN (R.I.P.) hung up his headphones and MARC BOLAN (..er, also R.I.P .) Was still reminding us he was BORN TO BOOGIE …Needless to say, its QUALITY not QUANTITY that counts here at FRAMINGO …Just check out our of stunning bands if you don`t believe us!!

SLEAZIES ROCKS ….
Flippin` `Eck, Matron … Thursday nights will never quite be the same after last night's truly stunning event at NICE “N” SLEAZY featuring soon to be legends LITTLE JOHN ROCKET & THE SKUZZIES …and not forgetting FRAMINGO favourites THE RETROSEXUALS! A full, frank , and (lets be honest,) totally biased review will follow in a couple of days once we have our collective breaths back. Suffice to say, those who chose instead to take in the cardigan- wearing prog-rockers “Cashabian” across the road at the ABC , must be kicking themselves this morning! …. Serves them right we say….24.08.07
BIG BANNANA FEET !
Once popular comedian (sic) BILLY CONNOLY has raised the hackles at FRAMINGO TOWERS this week with certain comments attributed to him vis. a vis the recent terrorist attack on GLASGOW Airport. We'll not bore you with the finer detail of the “AULD YIN'S “ colourful rantings, suffice to say, certain comments were made of a somewhat demeaning , not least to say, racist , nature toward the good citizens of Glasgow ….especially those whose footballing allegiances lie firmly in the bosom of Maryhill , home of the mighty PARTICK THISTLE FC! We urge you to boycott this LA based tax exile's products and join with us at the next PTFC home match in the JACKIE HUSBAND stand in a community rendition of the childish, yet forever popular chant “CONNOLLY, CONNOLY GET TAE F**K, CONNOLLY, GET TAE F**K!

FRAMINGO …REAL INDIE or PRETEND INDIE?
We at FRAMINGO are proud of our independent ethos and consider ourselves a genuine “independent” outfit in the true sense of the word. We are not answerable to some faceless corporate übermeister , nor do we subscribe to the modern penchant for reality/celebrity (sic) driven record sales. We're in this purely for the passion and pleasure we derive from backing the kind of music we, and we hope, you, love . The recent debate in the NME kicked –off by THE CRIBS has highlighted the blurred divisions between indie labels /bands and those clinging to it's coat-tails via Multi-national imprint labels...you know the culprits! (And some of them wear cardigans!! ) If you're a true believer stick with us and those like us who put the music first and profits (…whatever they are!) at the bottom of the heap Here endeth the rant x

POD R.I.P
Sadly this announcement does not relate to the demise of THAT devil-device which has become the scourge of those vinyl lovers amongst us… Framingo simply wish to acknowledge the passing of ALAN DAVIDSON (A.K.A. P rince O f D arkness) journalist of integrity and football reporter of this parish ….a man who told it how it was , often with wit , never without a deep sense of fairness and never one to follow the crowd or fawn over the overpaid celebrities of the modern era… A true PUNK of the journalistic fraternity …Have a drink on us Alan, Cheers08.08.07

HERE WE Go…etc…etc …..
Taking a break from the frenetic activity preceding the forthcoming release of AT AN END/ICE COLD , the FRAMINGO camp took in the opening salvo of the new FIRST DIVISION season at STIRLING …A nice sunny day, terracing banter, nae pies …and a fighting scoring draw …another roller–coaster season beckons! UP THE JAGS we say …
