WELCOME TO FRAMINGOLAND! ENJOY THE RIDE

We are delighted to confirm that long sleepless nights baiting your collective breaths awaiting news on the naming of the up & coming FRAMINGO Compilation Album have now come to an end . For it has been decreed that the marvel will forthwith be known as WELCOME TO FRAMINGOLAND. Early sightings of the artwork pertaining to this epic release have now been viewed by those in the know at FRAMINGO Towers & we are not disappointed. Witness for yourselves the cover shot & join with us in unleashing unanimous gasps of approval for what is destined to become an iconic image of INDEPENDENT MUSIC for generations to come! Final tweaking is being undertaken as we speak & the final copy will be with the printers over the next few days!! All is boding well for the release at the end of May & with the track listing already attracting interest from far & wide , we simply cannot wait for its release to you the music loving public. Details on how to place your orders & get your paws on a copy will follow over the next few days so stay tuned!

Sadly there is only disappointment & heartache for those of you who entered the naming competition . After much deliberation , it has felt by all at THE TOWERS that none of the entries came up to the high standards we have come to expect over the years--- titles like “ Framingo are Shite” & “Just One Framingo ” whilst no doubt based on an element of fact, were never going to cut it! Accordingly, the promised prize has been withheld & a donation to the well used jukebox at the Canaervon Bar will be made in lieu! Thanks are, however , due to all those who took the time & effort to enter---Keep it Framingo our little peepeedoos xxx

GOING FOR A LEAK

What with all the ever-present Governmental shenanigans hogging the headlines, you would have been forgiven for missing the really important stuff of life like SIR GARRY HARKINS being nominated for the SFL DIVISION 1 PLAYER OF THE YEAR..... or PHIL MITCHELL hitting the bottle (again) on or indeed, the misplacing of top secret FRAMINGO documents on one of The Councils finest tube at the tail end of last week. Now, we are not wanting to start a panic by suggesting details of FRAMINGO's forthcoming COMPILATION ALBUM are a threat to National Security or indeed that any FRAMINGO persons should get their jotters as a result of this no doubt alcohol fuelled episode...no Siree, we are simply just highlighting this incident to throw light on the importance we here at THE TOWERS are placing on our latest efforts to rescue THE FUTURE OF ROCK N ROLL with the stunning compilation coming your way around the end of May! The short list of names for the album is now secure in our mitts and entries have now closed, so stay tuned for the grand naming announcement thing next week together with exciting news on yet another FRAMINGO EXCLUSIVE!

DONE TOO MUCH, MUCH TOO YOUNG

For those of you following the (mis)fortunes of FRAMINGO favourites, the mighty PARTICK THISTLE , last weekend's debacle with Queen Of The South proved a match just too far for the Plimsoll Kids young whippersnappers from Maryhill . Dreams of League Championship glory have now all but been despatched to the “what might have been” section of the FRAMINGO vaults here in the TOWERS--- now now no jokes please!! Instead of feeling downhearted, disillusioned & generally pissed off, let us not forget the genuine thrills & excitement we have experienced this season and keep those memories to the fore as we look forward to the next assault on the First Division Championship which begins in earnest in July!!

And like THE JAGS, we here at FRAMINGO TOWERS have had a fairly bumpy ride this year , what with that there credit crunchy malarkey & the general upheaval in the music industry with live performance taking precedence over recorded output at every level. Despite these obstacles, & a lot more beside , we continue to strive to uphold the independent values we set out to celebrate at our inception in 2006. Thank you all out there for your continued support & feedback & as long as you, the last of the true music lovers out there, back us, we shall do our utmost to ensure TRULY INDEPENDENT artists have an avenue to get their sounds out there. MASTERING NEARS COMPETITION!

The Famous fifteen are now in the more than capable hands of FRAMINGO favourite studio bods LA CHUNKY, where the redoubtable RONAN & COLIN are doing their groove thang to ensure the FRAMINGO masterpiece is ready & willing to take on its pre-determined mission to deliver a thrashing to all the MAJORS out there! E.M.I., WARNERS, SONY etc. Your boys will take one helluva beating come the end of MAY! FRAMINGO and PARTICK THISTLE AGREE SPONSORSHIP DEAL!

After much behind the scenes negotiating and surreptitious deal making, we are delighted to confirm that FRAMINGO RECORDS will be the official team sponsors of the Mighty PARTICK THISTLE from the beginning of season 2009/2010! For an undisclosed sum ( rumoured to be in 5 figures!), the name of your very own numero uno independent label will be emblazoned on the shirts of the MARYHILL MAGUARS from July onwards!! And what with THE JAGS actively involved an exciting bid for promotion to the Premier LEAGUE, our mouths are positively watering at the prospect of seeing the famed FRAMINGO logo flashing up on our televisual screens next season as SUNTANNA SPORTS feature our heroes pitting their collective wits against the likes ABERDEEN, HIBS & FALKIRK next season -----Champions League , who`s havin' a laugh now ?????????????????????????????????????

MAY RELEASE ON THE CARDS!

Now that the veritable cat is out of the bag viz a viz the track listing on the forthcoming FRAMINGO compilation album , we can confirm that the release date is set for 29 th MAY 2009 . For the more astute among you will have recognised that we did say March but due to studio time & lack of decent drugs & nostalgia it has been put back 2 months. For those of you not yet suffering memory impairment through either drink, decent drugs or Horlicks, this momentous date is of course exactly THREE YEARS and ONE WEEK to the very day since CHEERLEADER E.P. by HAMBURG'S finest PROJEKT KOTELETT (Ming 01) was unleashed by your favourite label upon an unsuspecting but, in time, grateful public!

How things have moved on------ Pluto de-valued to status of “dwarf” Planet, Italy win the World Cup, Financial meltdown in world economies , an illegal & pathetic smoking ban goes UK - wide and of course His Royal Majesty otherwise known as GARRY HARKINS signed for the MIGHTY PARTICK THISTLE! Each a world shattering event in its own right we are sure you will agree. It is against this background of an ever-changing world that we are proud of the achievements of FRAMINGO RECORDS over these last three years, even if we say so ourselves!

We simply can`t wait for the freshly printed up discs of the compilation to arrive at FRAMINGO TOWERS and then you too, our dear friends , can share with us in celebrating this remarkable achievement in independent music .

NAME THAT COMPY ALBUM COMP!

As promised , it's once more unto the breach dear friends as we bring you another in a long line of celebrated FRAMINGO COMPETITIONS . And for th is one , we are leaving the creative input very much up to you! All we want is your suggestion for the title of the soon to be released and destined to be chart topper FRAMINGO COMPILATION! Keep it short , keep it sweet , and of course no rude or politically unsound bits! How simple is that? And the prize? The winning suggestion will indeed be used as the title for this much anticipated FRAMINGO classic scheduled for release in May 2009!! And not only that, the winner will be given a credit on the sleeve itself and will also receive the ubiquitous FRAMINGO GOODY BAG!!

So get yer brains into gear and get those entries in as the closing date is fixed for FRIDAY 10th APRIL 2009.

COMPILATION FEVER IS UPON US!!

After much deliberation, chin scratching and not least a few sessions quaffing the falling down stuff, FRAMINGO have finalised the track listing for the forthcoming (and as yet un-named FRAMINGO compilation). Like all monumental and world changing events, this has proven no mean task. Suffice to say FRAMINGO are well chuffed with the final list of runners & riders which we feel bears an accurate reflection of all we have striven to achieve over the last three years. Whilst many of you out there in FRAMINGO LAND may not agree entirely with our final selection, it cannot be argued that we have not sought to encapsulate the FRAMINGO ethos with our choices.

So here goes then:

HA HA FUNNY POLIS!

Given the high profile presence of MR PLOD in the quaint , but picturesque , village of CUMBERNAULD last weekend (the home of FRAMINGO TOWERS, no less!), it`s heartening that STRATHCLYDE'S finest clearly has the interests of its citizens at heart! Apparently, some 370 Hectors took part in what was termed “ OPERATION FLEET ”, an overt operation surreptitiously aimed at “targeting violence & anti-social behaviour”. Just how that merits requiring train passengers to pass through an “airport style” security check , including walk through metal detector, FULL body frisk & the riffling of the contents of a persons wallet --is arrogant in the extreme &,not least, a blatant breach of personal liberty & not forgetting ,ILLEGAL!!!! None other than one of our very own FRAMINGO was subjected to this latest display of the abuse of power handed down by the current occupants of No 10 to the PLOD whilst en route to a high profile meeting with FRAMINGO MANAGEMENT at our City Centre Office (That the ubiquitous CANAERVON BAR to you mob!). After a day of “dawn raids”, “high visibility patrols of CRIME HOTSPOTS such as parks, underpasses & shopping areas “(...eh ?) A total of 36 arrests were apparently made. Wow top scoring!! It serves as a timely reminder of the degree to which our civil liberties & freedoms have been eroded. Is it just us, or is there more than a whiff of revolution in the air? IRON MAIDEN TO THE RESCUE!

Don't fret, our musical cherubs, we are not about to regale you with breaking-news of the Lazarus like return of the ANTI-CHRIST that is/was M*GG*E TH*TCHER ....heaven forbid! No, what we are concerned with is the elevation of erstwhile ‘80s Heavy Metal exponents IRON MAIDEN to lofty status of the best Live Act at the recent BRITS shenanigans!! It says a great deal(sic) about those who seek to promote all that is great & good ( i.e. sales baby!) in the music industry , that a band with a combined age of 445 & suffering from the onset of various maladies consistent with octogenarians find themselves at the top of the tree as far as live performance is concerned ! Mind you, the hackneyed format of this annual farce has now degenerated into little more than a forelock tugging exercise to appease “the suits” who find themselves increasingly under attack from falling sales & revenues. What comes around & all that! DUFFY, KATY PERRY, PAUL WELLER, Aghh, THE PET SHOP BOYS! For Christ sake! If ever there was an act which epitomised mediocrity in creativity it's that loathsome duo!

Thank the lord for FRAMINGO & those who seek to maintain a degree of integrity , taste & no little humour . See you all again next year in London ? xxxx

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US !!!!

Is it really 3 years since FRAMINGO entered the fray of the heady world of Rock n Roll? It feels just like yesterday when we let loose the inimitable PROJEKT KOTELETT on an unsuspecting public with the strain of CHEERLEADER forming the soundtrack to the 2006 WORLD CUP In Germany ! Since then we`ve brought you Glasgow's very own LI'L ZE, Ayrshire born & bred FOOLS CIRCLE , rockin' upstarts ACUTE RIOT , London based proponents of fuzz-rock, THE SKUZZIES and anthemic ubermeisters LITTLE JOHN ROCKET .As you will be aware from these here pages , a fantastical FRAMINGO COMPILATION ALBUM is in the course of production to celebrate our survival in the all to ambivalent world within which the music industry persists in the new millennium . And as if this wasn't enough to satisfy, we are delighted to confirm that plans are now well under way to mark this auspicious occasion with a CELEBRATORY BASH in the heart of GLASGOW! We are in the course of firming up details , but rest assured this is destined to be yet another of those famed FRAMINGO nights out! There will be guest appearances and performances from FRAMINGO artists, no doubt somebody twiddling the decks (missus!) and some very special invited liggers .

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST.....

It's becoming a tad worrying when FRAMINGO seems to be spending an unhealthy amount of time penning obituaries theses days, but sadly we seem to have hit a bad patch. It is therefore with a tear in our collective eyes that we convey the news of the untimely demise of LUX INTERIOR, the ubiquitous chanter- extraordinaire with THE CRAMPS.Along with partner and soul mate POISON IVY, Lux forged an inimitable sound mixing a heavy dose of ROCKABILLY with B-MOVIE KITSCH to produce of a band who will forever remain unique. On 4th FEBRUARY 2009 , the Rock n Roll world lost yet another irreplaceable member. However, the spirit of THE CRAMPS lives on through countless recordings as well as the numerous bands that include them as a major influence.

 ALL ABOARD THE FRAMINGO HITS BAND-WAGON

FRAMINGO are now in the process of tweaking the final track listing for this year's most eagerly awaited COMPILATION ALBUM and we hope to bring you the final runners &riders before too long. As previously indicated, we are proud to confirm that firm FRAMINGO favourites will be included . To this end, step forward THE RETROSEXUALS, THE REGIMENT & AGAINST ONE OF THE STATE KILLERS. All three bands, whilst not officially on the FRAMINGO roster, have been long –time collaborators with FRAMINGO, particularly under the mantle of our live events over the years. Full details of theses EXCLUSIVE tracks will follow in the coming weeks. In the meantime, FRAMINGO extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to all three bands.

THE FINAL PUSH.

It's been a wee while since we commented on the fortunes of FRAMINGO favourites THE MIGHTY PARTICK THISTLE. Like ourselves, THE JAGS have quietly but steadfastly refused to buckle under the constraints of the super-rich hierarchy which sadly prevails. It comes , therefore, as a welcome respite from the petty squabbling and cash- induced hysteria which surrounds those at the higher echelons of the FOOTIE world to see THE JAGS sitting proudly SECOND in the SFL1! The next couple of months are vital if our heroes from MARYHILL are to advance to the next level .

FRAMINGO wish CORKY McCall and his skill laden superstars all the best in the quest .

COMPILATION FEVER ON THE UP!

Following last week's announcement regarding the forthcoming FRAMINGO compilation release, we have been inundated with enquiries and requests for more info! It's heartening in these dark, credit crunchy winter days and nights to receive such a high level of continued interest and belief in what we at FRAMINGO have been striving to achieve since our inception back in 2006.We are, therefore , positively delighted to confirm that every single FRAMINGO artist will feature on the much anticipated MARCH release. Some favourite tracks from the past together with some cutting edge re-mixes will feature making this not so much a greatest hits collection but a CELEBRATION of the FRAMINGO dynasty over the last three years! With excitement already at fever pitch in the FRAMINGO camp in anticipation of our foray into HOLLYWOOD territory with “ROUNDING UP DONKEYS,” we are bracing ourselves for an eventful few months ahead!
