FINLAND BECKONS….

Just as things start to heat up on the LJR front, it all freezes over when those pesky persons from FINLAND put the proverbial spanner in the works! Not content with claiming SANTA is truly a citizen hailing from the land of the midnight sun, as well as giving us: SAMMI HYPIA, LASSE VIREN, JARRI LIPMAMA, and MIKKA HACKKINEN , our friends from out HELSINKI way have seen fit to lure a vital cog that is MAJOR (bass maestro) for a few weeks for their own nefarious purposes! Our young , handsome, star is heading east to acquaint himself with sound engineering gubbins fiddling with knobs and whatnots …So what , to cut to the chase, does this mean for all us mere mortals out there? Well, sadly, the release of the magnificent BASEMENT will not be with us on Valentines Day but has been put back to early April . But fear not, our music loving friends, as upon the return of MAJOR, it will be full-steam ahead with gigs galore, from early March, mucho sightings of the LJR crew in the press and media and generally a full- throttled campaign which is set to see the Glaswegian quintet dominate the airwaves come spring time!!…. SO stay with us friends and keep abreast of all thats going on… …Get back soon MAJOR!! Framingo xx

SHOULD AULD AQUAINTENCE BE FORGOT? ….

Now that the remnants of the last hangover from the festive season are well and truly behind us, FRAMINGO have emerged into the January gloom to cast a gaze, in a NOSTRADAMUS stylee, towards the future of ROCK N ROLL …and we have concerns, our vinyl loving chums! …. Least not given the obvious dearth of talent climbing up the well-greased pole to the musical Nirvana that is ROCK N ROLL SUPERSTARDOM! Where lurks the new IGGY? Have you spotted the successors to the throne vacated by the (now sadly deceased) RAMONES? Will there ever be someone with the panache to shake things up like wot THE PISTOLS did in ‘76? …Fear not, for FRAMINGO predict that the ills of the musical world (and they are numerous!) will be made good by sticking with us here at the world's BEST LOVED truly independent label! We have high hopes ahead for the coming year for all our bands , not least the mighty LITTLE JOHN ROCKET from Glasgow and London's very own THE SKUZZIES! Not forgetting Hamburg's finest Projekt Kotelett!!

Exciting times lay ahead in the coming months, our friends , …so stick with us and stay tuned for all the news and views as we strive in our timeless journey to SAVE THE FUTURE OF ROCK N ROLL!!

In the meantime, BEST WISHES for a ROCKIN' 2008 to all our friends out there in FRAMINGOLAND xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

CLASH CHRIMBO ROCKERS!

After an unprecedented deluge of votes cast over the last few days, THE CLASH have secured THE NUMERO UNO position in the FRAMINGO FESTIVE FORTY with the ubiquitous COMPLETE CONTROL. As those of you following events over the last few weeks probably realised, a two horse race developed between our victors and that lively beat combo from London Town, THE SEX PISTOLS. For the listening and viewing pleasure of everyone out there, just click on this link and witness for yourselves the sheer class, power and pure unadulterated rock n roll fervour that was THE CLASH

The final FESTIVE FORTY is published in its entirety on the compy page and there are one or two shockeroonies in there …..Feel free to e-mail your comments, opinions and general abuse to www.festiveforty@framingorecords.com and we will hopefully encourage some kind of a debate….

The winner of the final weekly prize of a FRAMINGO goody bag is ANDY McCOLGAN…KRAFTWERK & THE SMITHS in there…nice!

AND THE GRAND WINNER IS …….. WAYNO from that wee town in North Lanarkshire famous for being a Carbuncle! WAYNO managed to pick both the number one and number two tracks in the final chart along with a couple of other fine choices and for these reasons is a fitting winner…. Sadly , due to prior commitments , Wayno cannot make tonight's FRAMINGO FESTIVE PISS-UP …but to mark his success we will make a donation equivalent to the estimate of what would have been his bar tab this evening to his favourite charideee…..

Right, we are off to get showered , shaved and generally tarted up in order to head into GLASGOW for tonight's FRAMINGO dooo….you lot will have to make do with catching with the goings on in Cori and East enders ….and no doubt discussing the merits of the FRAMINGO FESTIVE FORTY which we now reveal in all its glory, chin chin, Framingo xx

PUNKS NOT DEAD …..HONEST GUV!!

With just under a week to go, there are no changes at the summit of the FRAMINGO FESTIVE FORTY Top ten. It seems that, despite the combined false dawns of the dance boom in the late 80`s and the emergence of Britpop in the 90`s, there is more chance of THE MOZZMEISTER winning a lifetime achievement gong at next years NME awards than there is of the true music punter (that's you lovely lot!) disowning the legacy that will forever be PUNK ROCK! …. And that's no bad thing say us.This is the last chance to get yer votes cast before the overall winner is announced next week and dragged …er ..Sorry, cordially invited along as our guest of honour next Friday night as part of the FRAMINGO XMAS PISS-UP THINGY ….This week's supremely lucky ballot box bandit is DAMIAN BEATTIE …nice to see CURTIS MAYFIELD in there with KRAFTWERK!!.. We'll be in contact Damian to deliver your very own goody bag …and stay tuned to our website as you're possibly in the running for next Friday night!!!

Nurse, remove those screens and reveal this week's top-ten

HARD ROCKIN`FESTIVE FROLICS ….

What with the football world encountering the inevitable managerial merry-go-round post departure of ALEX “Ten Game” McLEISH, and one time spokesperson of the yoof of yesteryear MOZZER (Shoplifters of the World Beware!!) metamorphosing into a latter day Enoch Powell (…ask yer parents! ) it is comforting for us here at FRAMINGO TOWERS knowing there are still persons out there with a liking for all things ROCK N ROLL! FESTIVE FORTY HOTTING UP!!

Things are certainly hotting up in the race to top the FRAMINGO FESTIVE FORTY! There have been a few leftfield entries raising a few eyebrows, some more predictable mainstream ditties and some which are, quite frankly, causing us some unease!!.. Of particular concern was the entry by a MR S. MCLAREN from WEMBLEY, LONDON who voted that dodgy “UMBRELLA-ELLA” nonsense by RHIANNA as his numero uno!! All we can say is, stay out of music STEVE and stick to something you know well, like ..er.. Football Management …(sorry, couldn't resist it!!)

Anyhow, onto business and here follows the updated top ten …and this weeks lucky recipient of the now famed FRAMINGO goodie bag is a ALI MORRISON …saucy choices Ali, goody bag on the way!!!!

FESTIVE FORTY FUN n FROLICS….

We've had a few phone calls from our legions of fans out there on the topic of our recently announced FRAMINGO FESTIVE FORTY. FRAMINGO FESTIVE FORTY…. HO, HO, HO!

In loving memory of the sadly missed “SIR” JOHN PEEL, we at FRAMINGO wish to honour the great man's memory by following a tradition introduced by the Peelster himself many chrimbos ago. BUT that's not all folks …no Siree …on the week prior to 25th December we will publish the final FRAMINGO FESTIVE FORTY ..and the lucky punter who in the opinion of the judges (i.e. The FRAMINGO BROTHERS ) has exhibited a firm grasp of the kind of tunes we at FRAMINGO adore, will be invited to join us on the FRAMINGO RECORDS ANNUAL XMAS PISS-UP , where we will be joined by none other than FRAMINGO stalwarts LITTLE JOHN ROCKET !!(subject to conditions …like,er, we will pick up your bar tab & late night kebab but will NOT meet Hilton accommodation or Lear Jet transport costs to or from Glasgow , sorry) ….

TONIGHT`S THE NIGHT…..

Yes Indeed, FRAMINGOITES , despite MR FAWKES` shoddy attempt at doing away with the then incumbents of the Houses of Parliament on this night many, many moons ago, this very night remains cause for celebration as THE ROSSTER enters The Doghouse under the ever-watchful eye of RICO to lay down the final vocal tracks for the forthcoming LITTLE JOHN ROCKET single BASEMENT . Our spies tell us that the sessions have been exceptional to date and once these mega vocals are down and RICO has sprinkled on a liberal dose of his special, unique magic dust , then what is destined to become THE first major release of 2008 will be ready for blast –off!! …Get ready to light the blue touch-paper and retreat to a safe distance friends …….
